Applause for twin show

Die örtliche Presse berichtet, als die meisten Mitwirkenden schon in ihren Heimatdestinationen angekommen waren:

Oxford Town Hall was packed on Friday and Saturday nights for two performances by young people from Oxford and its twin cities.

More than 200 musicians, dancers and singers from Oxford, Leiden in Holland, Bonn in Germany, Grenoble in France, Perm in Russia and Torun, Leiden's twin town in Poland, staged Carmina Burana, Carl Orff's celebrated cantata.

The performers, who received standing ovations each night, had just five days working together in Oxford after rehearsing their parts separately in their home towns.

It was the eighth annual festival promoted by Oxford City Council's international links committee, which includes representatives from all Oxford's twin city links.
