Konzertankündigung in Columbus, Ohio

Renowned German Children’s Choir to perform at Holy Spirit Church
The Carl-Von-Ossietzky-Gymnasium’s Children's Choir from Bonn Germany will be performing in Columbus this month. They will only perform at two Churches while in the United States: Holy Spirit in Columbus and another Catholic Church in New York. The choir is made up of over 100 students, but 56 young people will be making the trip to the United States.

The choir will be performing music from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, the Halleluiah Chorus from Messiah, by Handel, Felix Mendelssohn’s Prayer and several other sacred and secular pieces in Latin, English, German and Hebrew. The concert will be on March 29th at 6:00PM, free admission with a free will collection to benefit their choir as well as Holy Spirit Church's Music Ministry.

There was a time for many hundreds of years that the Catholic Church was the entity that kept the arts and music alive and thriving. In more recent times, the secular world has taken up that role. Today, as the secular world begins eliminating symphony orchestras and tearing down opera houses, the Catholic Church must once again preserve the arts and work to see music flourish - especially in the hearts and minds of children. This concert is a very important event - both to the audience and the children performing.
