The choir will be performing music from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, the Halleluiah Chorus from Messiah, by Handel, Felix Mendelssohn’s Prayer and several other sacred and secular pieces in Latin, English, German and Hebrew. There was a time for many hundreds of years that the Catholic Church was the entity that kept the arts and music alive and thriving. In more recent times, the secular world has taken up that role. Today, as the secular world begins eliminating symphony orchestras and tearing down opera houses, the Catholic Church must once again preserve the arts and work to see music flourish - especially in the hearts and minds of children. This concert is a very important event - both to the audience and the children performing.
